1970's MXR Noise Gate/Line Driver pedal has been developed to solve the problems of background noise and hum that occur in performance. It also provides a convenient high/low impedance interface for direct signal taps. In other words: It is used to boost your signal and cut noise to your amp. Usually, it is the last pedal before the amp.
