Story
3U rack-mounted two-channel analog tape simulator with multiple tape recorder templates.
The AnaMod ATS-1 offers analog tape simulation from a variety of tape machines in a two-channel, 3U rack-mounted unit.
For replicating classic tape sounds, the AnaMod ATS-1 has a simple yet comprehensive front panel and allows you to adjust either of the two channels for Input and Output levels, a Reference level for calibrating the big VU meters and adjustable knobs to alter the tape Formulation and sound of the tape when operated at different speeds. The VU levels are to show how hard you are driving the tape inputs too, just like you would on a real tape machine.
Bias, HF and LF responses are adjustable on the ATS-1 front panel and the addition of cute Stop and Record buttons that function as Bypass and On respectively, combine to give you the perfect simulation experience. A useful tape Hiss control is also included to better re-create the sounds of a classic '15ips - no n/r' recording session.
The design of the AnaMod ATS-1 uses machine personality cards, in combination with smaller tape-formulation cards, to model the characteristic sounds of recording on four different tape machines, including Ampex, Studer and 3M versions.
For many digital users the sound of analog tape has long been sought - but not at the sacrifice of the operational advantages that digital recording brings. The AnaMod ATS-1 is the perfect way to bring that cherished sound into your studio.
